Crestfield Safety is a chartered consultancy built around three things: fire risk assessments, fire door inspections, and DSEAR risk assessments for dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres. We sell no equipment, so every recommendation we write is independent — and every report is fixed price, agreed before we attend.
This is what Crestfield is built to do, and where our experience runs deepest. Everything else we offer sits underneath it — see other services if you need it.
A full, on-site PAS 79 assessment of escape routes, ignition sources and fire safety measures — not a template. Written report, prioritised actions, and a review cycle so it never quietly goes out of date.
See fire risk assessments →Door-by-door checks against current guidance, with photographic evidence and a plain-English pass/fail report — covering the single most commonly failed item in every fire risk assessment we do.
See fire door inspections →A separate legal duty for anywhere that stores, handles or produces flammable substances, gases, dusts or vapours. Site visit, zoning, written control measures — and a service we deliver right across the UK.
See DSEAR assessments →Dangerous substances don't respect a regional patch, so DSEAR is the one service we take on anywhere in the UK — from single-site assessments to multi-site ATEX zoning programmes.
DSEAR risk assessmentsThese need someone on site, so we keep them where we can turn a visit around fast: County Durham, Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Leeds, York, Carlisle and Manchester.
A wider compliance service sits alongside our fire and DSEAR work for clients who want one point of contact for everything. It's not the focus of what we do, but it's there when you need it.
Ongoing policies, risk assessments and a named contact — priced monthly, not per panic.

Learn more →Fire risk assessment, fire door inspection and alarm/emergency lighting checks, bundled and priced together.

Learn more →Fire safety awareness, DSEAR awareness and risk assessment training for your team, delivered on site.
Learn more →Management-system groundwork for businesses working toward ISO 45001 certification.
Learn more →Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the "responsible person" for a premises must carry out and keep a fire risk assessment under review — and enforcement can mean unlimited fines or prosecution of the individual named as responsible, not just the business.
DSEAR sits alongside that as a separate legal duty, enforced by the HSE rather than local Fire and Rescue Services, for anywhere handling flammable substances, gases, dusts or vapours. Most businesses that need one also need the other — which is exactly why we lead with both.
"They didn't just tick the standard box — they explained exactly why our detection category needed to be higher than a generic template would suggest, and put the reasoning in writing."
